  • Nebraska public colleges and universities are affordable. Nebraska has some of the lowest tuitions and total costs among public schools in the US. Besides that, the majority of Nebraska college students don’t pay the full advertised tuition. At the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, for example, 87% of students received financial aid for the 2014-2015 academic year. In 67% of cases the financial aid was in the form of grants (no repayment required).

  • Nebraska makes state-to-state deals. Maybe your dream college is across state lines. While out-of-state schools generally cost a more to attend, residents of Nebraska can get tuition discounts at public community colleges, four-year colleges and universities in other midwestern states through the Midwestern Student Exchange Program (MSEP). The nine MSEP member states are Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
